Expert in law Ali Al-Tamimi confirmed on Thursday that Iraq has the full right to sue the United States and Kuwait for threatening its security and stability and trespassing on its sovereignty.
Al-Tamimi stated, “If Kuwait was a partner in the recent aggression on the headquarters of the Popular Mobilization Forces, Iraq can file a complaint against it with the United Nations and the Security Council.”
He continued, “Noting that Article 27 of this agreement obliges Washington to provide protection for Iraqi lands, and what happened recently in terms of targeting inside Iraq is a violation of the agreement signed between Baghdad and Washington,” adding that “Iraq has an agreement with the United States.”
He stated that “major diplomatic action in this direction” was required by Iraq.
