The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps said Friday that the withdrawal of the USS Gerald R. Ford shows weakness in U.S. power.
In a statement, the group claimed the carrier’s sudden and quiet pullback during rising tensions proves confusion and lack of strength from the United States and its allies.
They questioned how such an expensive warship could avoid passing through the Bab el-Mandeb Strait, suggesting it was concerned about smaller threats like speedboats.
The group also said Iranian forces are on high alert and ready for any possible confrontation.
