The Iraqi government has made a change to its plan for the Basra–Haditha oil pipeline project.
Instead of using the old tender process, the government will now directly invite selected companies to take part. This comes after updating Decision No. 578 of 2025.
The Ministry of Oil will reach out to specialized and interested companies and ask them to submit their offers for the project.
This pipeline is seen as an important step for Iraq. It will help improve how oil is transported across the country and give Iraq more flexibility when it comes to exporting its oil.
