MP Mustafa Abdul-Hadi cleared up the confusion about professional allowances for educational staff on Sunday.
Speaking to dinaropinions.com, Abdul-Hadi said, “Out of respect for the rights of educational staff, we’ve been closely following up on the issue with the Ministry of Education.” He went on to explain that “the Minister of Education has approved the allocation of funds to increase professional allowances from 150,000 dinars to 300,000 dinars.”
He added that this move sets the stage for addressing the Ministry of Finance to include enough funds to implement the proposed changes in the Ministry of Education Law, specifically the allowance increase. Abdul-Hadi stressed that “getting this included in the draft budget is crucial for speeding up its approval.”
He also pointed out that ensuring financial coverage in the budget will guarantee the decision is implemented on schedule, which will have a positive impact on the living conditions of educational staff.
