Muhammad Al-Zayadi, a member of the House of Representatives, urged the administration to speed submitting the budget plans for the current year to Parliament for approval on Sunday.
“Many infrastructure projects and service sectors have stopped due to the lack of financial funding,” Al-Ziyadi stated.
The House of Representatives was not given enough time to vote on the budget schedules that the government had made changes to before, he said.
Al-Ma’louma received confirmation from Representative Moeen Al-Kadhimi, a member of the Parliamentary Finance Committee, that the government is overseeing the completion of the adjustments to the tables for the current year’s budget because of the rise in social care and ration card allocations as well as the rising costs of oil production.
