Adnan Al-Jahishi, a member of the Parliamentary Initiative Bloc, reiterated his request on Saturday to allow the member to select a new Speaker of the House of Representatives.
Al-Jahishi stated, “The election of a new Speaker of the House of Representatives was greatly affected by the intervention of the heads of the political blocs.”
He went on to say that “there is difficulty in reaching any agreements or solutions regarding the position of the Speaker of Parliament,” noting that “the House of Representatives is concerned with deciding the election of the Speaker of Parliament by giving the representative the freedom of choice.”
Focusing on that “the intercession of political powers faces protests inside Parliament,” he kept, “giving First Agent Mohsen Al-Mandalawi the opportunity to pick is the nearest to settling this issue.”
