Al Saadi calls on Al Zidi to raise the issue of American violations of Iraqi sovereignty during his visit to Washington.

Member of Parliament Murtada Al-Saadi has called on Prime Minister Ali Al-Zaidi to raise the issue of alleged U.S. violations of Iraqi sovereignty during his upcoming official visit to Washington, emphasizing the need to protect Iraq’s independence and national decision-making.

Speaking to dinaropinions.com, Al-Saadi said that the United States had committed repeated violations against Iraq and stressed that these matters should be included in discussions between Iraqi and American officials.

He argued that Prime Minister Al-Zaidi should place all concerns related to Iraqi sovereignty on the agenda during his visit, conveying Iraq’s position against any actions that it considers an infringement on its sovereignty or interference in its internal affairs.

Al-Saadi also urged the Prime Minister to address what he described as continued American involvement in Iraqi decision-making processes. According to the lawmaker, safeguarding Iraq’s sovereignty requires strengthening the country’s ability to make independent political decisions free from external influence.

The remarks come amid ongoing political debate within Iraq regarding the nature of relations with the United States and the balance between strategic cooperation and the preservation of national sovereignty. Several Iraqi political figures have recently voiced concerns about foreign influence in the country’s security, economic, and political affairs.

Al-Saadi emphasized that raising these issues during official talks would be consistent with Iraq’s efforts to protect its national interests and reinforce the principle of sovereign decision-making in its domestic and foreign policies.
