MP Ahmed Al-Sharmani is urging quick approval of a new salary scale based on what he calls social justice, saying the current system is unfair and needs major reform.
He said the goal is to reduce the gap between lower and higher job grades, so employees with lower salaries can better cope with rising living costs.
Al-Sharmani argued that balancing salaries across different levels is the only way to address the pressure many workers are facing today.
He also said fair pay is not just a demand from certain groups, but a basic right, pointing out that some positions earn far less than what is needed for daily life, while others receive high privileges.
He called on Parliament to push the government and relevant committees to finalize and vote on the new salary scale as soon as possible.
According to him, delaying this issue will only increase frustration among workers and hurt overall performance in government institutions.
