Economic researcher Qasim Al-Tamimi believes Iraq can overcome its current economic challenges, but only if the government brings in highly qualified economic experts capable of offering practical solutions.
Al-Tamimi said Prime Minister Ali al-Zubaidi needs a new team of specialized advisors who can help guide the country through its economic difficulties. He argued that relying on the same traditional advisors who have served in previous governments has not produced the results Iraq needs.
According to Al-Tamimi, the government should seek experts with strong economic knowledge and fresh ideas to help manage the current crisis and develop effective strategies for recovery.
He explained that Iraq is facing growing financial pressure due to falling oil revenues, which have been affected by the ongoing regional tensions and military escalation in the Middle East. Since oil remains the country’s main source of income, any decline in exports or revenues has a direct impact on the economy.
Al-Tamimi said the situation is challenging but not impossible to fix. He stressed that the government must take careful and well-planned decisions that help stabilize the economy while protecting the living standards of ordinary citizens.
In his view, the right economic leadership and expert advice could play a key role in helping Iraq navigate the current crisis and reduce the impact of falling oil income on the country.
