Al Zarkoushi reveals the truth about the State of Law's nomination of two names for the Ministry of Interior.

Abdul Samad al-Zarkoushi, a member of the Coordination Framework, denied reports claiming that the State of Law Coalition had submitted two new candidates for the Ministry of Interior position.

Al-Zarkoushi told dinaropinions.com that reports circulating on some websites about the coalition replacing its candidate, Qasim Atta, after he failed to gain parliamentary approval in the government of Ali al-Zaidi two days ago are inaccurate.

He explained that the State of Law Coalition has not officially changed its position, adding that no new names have been submitted and the nomination of Qasim Atta has not been withdrawn.

Al-Zarkoushi said the coming days will include meetings to review the results of the parliamentary confidence vote on Ali al-Zaidi’s government and discuss the reasons several ministerial positions, including the Ministry of Interior, were not approved.

He also stressed that the State of Law Coalition is entitled to two ministerial portfolios, including the Interior Ministry, adding that upcoming discussions are expected to clarify many of the questions currently being raised by the public.
