The fourth Basra International Exhibition for Oil, Gas, Energy, and Petrochemicals wrapped up at the Basra International Fairground in Al-Maqal Port, bringing together around 300 local and international companies from 18 countries.
The event was organized with support from Iraq’s Ministry of Oil and regional energy organizations. It gave companies a chance to present new technologies, discuss partnerships, and explore ways to strengthen Iraq’s oil, gas, and energy sectors.
The exhibition featured a wide range of products and services, including inspection and certification solutions, artificial intelligence tools for oil exploration, environmental waste management, and modern lighting systems.
One of the participants was Germany’s TÜV Rheinland, a company with more than 150 years of experience in testing and certification. Company representative Hazem Yahya Abdul-Qader said TÜV Rheinland works as an approved third-party inspection company for Iraq’s Ministry of Oil. The company has long-term contracts with major state-owned firms such as Basra Oil Company and the Iraqi Drilling Company.
He explained that TÜV Rheinland also works with KBR at the Majnoon oil field and with the State Company for Heavy Engineering Equipment. Its services include equipment inspections, risk assessments, certification of welders and inspectors, and specialized driver training to help maintain safety and protect industrial assets.
China’s Beijing Jurassic Software also took part in the exhibition. The company develops software for the oil and gas industry and has been operating for around 30 years. Representative Li Hui said its systems help companies manage exploration, drilling, reservoir analysis, well operations, electrical submersible pumps, and smart oil field management to improve production efficiency.
Another participant was Iranian lighting manufacturer Ram Noor. Representative Asmaa Naeem said the company produces decorative lighting poles in different shapes, including star, triangular, and square designs. These products are being used as modern alternatives to traditional street lighting in industrial and urban areas.
Environmental services were represented by Iraqi company Al-Anfal, which specializes in handling hazardous and non-hazardous waste from oil and gas operations. Company representative Hawraa Kadhim said Al-Anfal currently provides services for Block 9, the Siba gas field, and the Artawi oil field, while also working with Kuwait Energy and CNOOC.
Kadhim said Al-Anfal is the only company in Basra with the licenses and environmental certifications needed to transport, process, and recycle industrial chemical waste under Iraq’s environmental regulations. She said this reflects the growing role of Iraqi companies in supporting the country’s energy industry and environmental protection efforts.
