Block Inc. has increased its corporate Bitcoin holdings by 85 BTC, bringing its total treasury to 9,117 BTC and moving the company into 15th place among publicly listed companies holding Bitcoin.

Block’s latest addition was reported by Bitcoin Treasuries.NET, which showed the company’s holdings rising from 9,032 BTC to 9,117 BTC. The report did not disclose the purchase price or the exact timing of the acquisition.

The move comes shortly after Block joined the S&P 500, becoming the second crypto-focused company in the index after Coinbase. The company replaced Hess Corp. on July 23 following Chevron’s acquisition of the energy producer.

Block has maintained a long-term Bitcoin accumulation strategy. The company previously revealed that it allocates 10% of the monthly gross profit generated from its Bitcoin-related products toward purchasing additional Bitcoin. It also published its treasury framework to serve as a reference for other companies considering similar strategies.

Founded as Square in 2009 and rebranded to Block in 2021, the company has expanded beyond payment processing into digital assets and blockchain infrastructure. Its portfolio includes Square, Cash App, Afterpay, TIDAL, Proto, and Bitkey. Bitcoin is integrated into several of these businesses, including Cash App’s Bitcoin services, Bitkey’s self-custody wallet, and Proto’s Bitcoin mining hardware initiatives.

The latest purchase comes as corporate Bitcoin treasury adoption continues to grow. While some firms are accumulating Bitcoin, others are taking different approaches. Recently, Strategy disclosed Bitcoin sales under its monetization framework to fund preferred-stock dividends, share repurchases, and liquidity reserves.

Unlike Strategy’s recent use of Bitcoin for capital management, Block has continued steadily increasing its holdings through direct purchases.

The treasury expansion also follows a period of restructuring at Block. Earlier this year, the company reduced its workforce and eliminated hundreds of open positions as part of an effort to improve operational efficiency. Despite those changes, it met the requirements for inclusion in the S&P 500, highlighting its scale and profitability.

With 9,117 BTC now on its balance sheet, Block strengthens its position among the largest corporate Bitcoin holders, reflecting its continued commitment to Bitcoin as both a treasury asset and a key part of its broader business strategy.
