Central Bank: There is no problem with the liquidity of the dinar, and we will launch a new mechanism for granting dollars

Governor Ali Al-Alaq of the Central Bank of Iraq disputed that there was an issue with the dinar’s liquidity today, Friday, although he did say that a new system for obtaining dollars for tourists will soon be launched.

“The Central Bank is continuing to conduct the process of responding to requests related to liquidity, as well as the Ministry of Finance,” declared Al-Alaq, refuting rumors and concerns that the Iraqi dinar’s liquidity is an issue.

“The Central Bank is creating a system that will allow tourists to easily obtain dollars at Iraqi airports; some of these have already finished the system with the presence of banks and appropriate exchange companies to distribute dollars,” he continued.

He made note of the fact that the new system will soon be implemented, and in order to guarantee that the dollar reaches the actual passenger, the traveler will receive it by registering through the platform and picking it up at the airport.
