Genel Energy has confirmed that David McManus has retired as Chair and stepped down from the Board with immediate effect, following a period of ill health.

The company has appointed Canan Ediboğlu, Senior Independent Non-Executive Director, as interim Chair while the search for a permanent Chair is conducted.

Additionally, Yetik K. Mert has been named interim Senior Independent Director.

Commenting on the transition, Canan Ediboğlu said:

“On behalf of the Board and all of Genel, I would like to express our sincere gratitude to David for his unwavering leadership and commitment to the Company over the last five years.
