Ali Al-Alan, the governor of the Iraqi Central Bank, stated on Tuesday that preparations exist to revalue the Iraqi dinar in relation to the US dollar while emphasizing that US sanctions do not apply to Iraqi finances. Al-Alan also announced forthcoming discussions with the US Treasury Department and the Federal Reserve, pointing out that both organizations have commended the Central Bank of Iraq’s (CBI) performance and function.
