Iran announces deposit of $7.5 billion in oil revenues into the central bank

Iran’s Central Bank announced that the Ministry of Oil has deposited $7.5 billion into its official account, representing revenue from oil exports and foreign-currency transactions during the first four months of the current Iranian year. According to the bank, the amount is around 50% higher than the revenue recorded during the same period last year.

Officials said the funds will be used to support government spending and help meet the country’s foreign-currency needs. The Central Bank believes the available revenue should be enough to cover the government’s foreign-currency expenses through the end of December.

The increase in revenue comes despite years of economic pressure and sanctions on Iran’s energy sector. Oil exports remain one of the country’s most important sources of foreign currency, making these earnings critical for funding imports, stabilizing finances, and supporting government operations.

The announcement also highlights the continued importance of oil income to Iran’s economy. Revenue from oil sales provides the government with access to hard currency that can be used for international trade, essential imports, and other financial obligations.

According to the Central Bank, the latest figures show stronger earnings compared with the same period last year, giving authorities additional financial resources as they manage economic challenges and budget requirements in the months ahead.
