In Karbala Industrial City, the construction of four important chemical and industrial projects has been officially opened by Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani.
Among the projects are:
a 1,000 tons per day industrial gas plant;
a plant with white oils (1,000 m3/day);
a plant for organic solvents (1,000 m3/day); and a plant for vacuum distillation (2,500 tons per day).
Iraq’s broader strategy to increase petrochemical and industrial output, reduce reliance on oil revenues, and create thousands of jobs includes the new industrial city that is strategically positioned along the Development Road. Iraq’s strategy of economic diversification will be further supported by these factories, which will produce essential materials for other industries.
