KBR and AUIB Sign Engineering Education Partnership

The American University of Iraq-Baghdad (AUIB) and KBR have signed an agreement to help develop engineering and technical skills in Iraq.

Under this agreement, both sides will work together to provide advice and support to government agencies, state-owned companies, and private businesses. Their work will cover several important sectors, including energy, infrastructure, utilities, mining, and manufacturing. They will also focus on business planning, workforce development, project support, and professional training.

AUIB students will get the chance to learn from real industry projects, KBR case studies, technical tools, and practical simulations. They will also have access to guest lectures, seminars, and guidance from KBR experts. Both organisations plan to create training programmes for government workers, industry professionals, recent graduates, and young people leaving school.

AUIB President Dr. Bradley Cook said Iraq’s future depends on using its skilled people and natural resources to build long-term growth. He said the partnership with KBR will help connect education with industry and support that goal.

KBR Middle East Vice President Euan McCulloch said the agreement creates an opportunity to build a strong relationship and prepare more people in Iraq for professional jobs. He added that KBR has more than 100 years of engineering experience to share and remains committed to supporting Iraq’s energy sector.
