Water releases from Mosul Dam into the Tigris River have been reduced to 400 cubic meters per second, according to informed sources.

The sources said the release rate was previously 500 cubic meters per second, making the current level the lowest recorded in recent weeks.

They explained that the reduction is mainly due to lower water inflows coming from Turkey. As less water enters the dam, authorities are adjusting releases to maintain a balance between the amount of water flowing in and the amount being released downstream.

According to the sources, decisions to increase or decrease water releases depend on several factors. These include the volume of water arriving from Turkey, the level of water stored in the dam’s reservoir, and the water needs of areas that rely on the Tigris River during this period.

Officials continue to monitor water conditions closely to manage available resources and ensure that water supplies are distributed according to current needs.
