Mounis calls on political forces to overcome their bickering and quickly finalize the budget law.

Hussein Mounis stressed on Wednesday that Iraq’s general budget law can no longer face delays, calling on political parties to put aside their disagreements and move quickly toward approving the legislation.

Speaking to dinaropinions.com, Mounis said the current situation requires united political efforts because the budget law directly affects citizens’ lives, public services, and development projects across the country.

He warned that any further delay in passing the budget would negatively impact Iraq’s economic performance and increase pressure on the government’s financial situation.

Mounis also urged political blocs to overcome internal rivalries and adopt what he described as a unified national approach that places the interests of the Iraqi people above political disputes and negotiations.

According to him, the Rights Movement is pushing for the budget to be approved quickly without political deals that could slow development or delay important financial decisions.

His comments came after Iraqi economic expert Dirgham Muhammad Ali stated that domestic borrowing may currently be the government’s only option to secure employee salaries, social welfare payments for May, and other urgent financial obligations.
