NFT sales drop 5.4% to $79m, Pudgy Penguins plunge 36%

NFT sales fell 5.41% this week to $79.31 million, down from $84.44 million last week. Surprisingly, the number of buyers surged nearly 1,000%, highlighting a growing audience even as total sales slipped.

Algebra Positions NFT-V2 led the pack with $7.81 million in sales, while Pudgy Penguins tumbled 37% to $2.79 million.

Buyer and Seller Activity

  • Buyers: 222,294 (up 989.6%)
  • Sellers: 189,963 (up 714.8%)
  • Transactions: 1,097,565 (down 20.9%)

Despite the drop in total volume, NFT activity is showing more participation and engagement than ever.

Ethereum and BNB Chain remain dominant leaders, while Bitcoin, Polygon, and other chains saw declines.

Market Context

The sales drop coincided with a Bitcoin price slump to around $96,000 and Ethereum losing the $3,200 level. Overall, the global crypto market cap declined to $3.26 trillion from $3.48 trillion last week.

Even with lower sales, NFT interest is growing, as new buyers flood the market and participate in collections across Ethereum, BNB Chain, and emerging chains like Mythos.
