Oil prices rose on Friday as concerns grew that the United States could resume military strikes against Iran, raising fears of renewed conflict in the region and possible disruptions to global energy supplies.
Brent crude climbed close to $118 a barrel, reaching its highest level since April last year, while US West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude traded near $105 a barrel.
The increase comes amid growing geopolitical tensions and concerns that further conflict could disrupt oil shipments from the region, putting additional pressure on global energy markets.
