OPEC Plus extends production cut plan until end of this year

Oil production reductions have been extended until the end of next December, according to OPEC+ nations.

In a statement, the OPEC+ Secretariat said that the gradual exit from the voluntary oil production cut had been delayed for another month.

The organization said in a statement that eight OPEC+ countries agreed to extend production adjustments made in November 2023 by 2.2 million barrels per day until the end of December 2024. These countries are Russia, Saudi Arabia, the Emirates, Kuwait, Kazakhstan, Iraq, Algeria, and the Sultanate of Oman.

It is interesting to note that the organization initially planned to begin gradually canceling voluntary production conservation in October, then decided to start doing so on December 1, but then extended it until this year’s end.
