The American Atlantic Council Institute has announced that on October 15, it will hold a conference on Iraq in Washington with former and current politicians and experts from the United States and Iraq. The conference will discuss opportunities and challenges in relations, overcoming years of turmoil, with an emphasis on the energy sector and expanding the Iraqi economy.

The conference, which is being held as part of the “Iraq Initiative” and is titled “The Path to Recovery, Development, and Global Partnerships in Iraq,” will, in accordance with the American Institute, bring together a diverse group of senior experts, researchers, and policymakers from both the United States and Iraq, including current and former senior officials.

The report, which was translated by Shafaq News Agency, said that the third “Iraq Initiative” conference will talk about the biggest problems and opportunities Iraq faces as it starts to get over years of volatility and show early signs of recovery and development.

The report went on to say that this year, the conference will focus on the development of the energy sector, the Iraqi government’s efforts to achieve sustainable economic diversification, and the changing course of the relationship between the US and Iraq.

The report also said that there will be lively panel discussions at the conference about how the United States, Iraq, and the international community can work together to help Iraq through its unique social, political, economic, and security changes.

The conference will also include translation into Kurdish and Arabic, as well as direct personal participation via video.

The “Iraq Initiative” program, according to the report’s conclusion, provides unique insights and analyses to policymakers in the region and across the Atlantic on the ongoing challenges and opportunities Iraq faces in its efforts to establish an inclusive political system, attract economic investment, and foster a vibrant civil society.
