The U.S. dollar recorded a slight decline against the Iraqi dinar in both Baghdad and Erbil on Thursday morning as trading opened for the day.
According to market reports, the dollar’s exchange rate at the Al-Kifah and Al-Harithiya exchanges in Baghdad fell to 153,000 Iraqi dinars per $100, down from 153,300 dinars per $100 recorded on Wednesday.
Currency exchange shops across Baghdad also reported lower rates. The selling price reached 153,500 dinars per $100, while the buying price stood at 152,500 dinars per $100.
A similar trend was seen in Erbil, where the dollar weakened slightly against the dinar. The selling price was recorded at 153,050 dinars per $100, while the buying price reached 152,950 dinars per $100.
The decline reflects a modest strengthening of the Iraqi dinar at the start of Thursday’s trading session. Market participants will continue to monitor currency movements in the coming days as economic and financial developments influence demand for the U.S. dollar across local markets.
