The Iraqi judiciary settles the controversy over whether the governor of the Central Bank should remain in his position or not

The Preeminent Legal Gathering in Iraq upheld the Express Board’s choice to allude the National Bank Lead representative, Ali Al-Alaq, to retirement in the wake of arriving at the legitimate age.

He made the point that the legislator has made it clear that retirement at the legal age is required by law, unless otherwise specified in a special provision, and that the Governor of the Central Bank is not exempt from the requirements of retirement at the legal age.

The State Committee affirmed that the lawful guideline states: ” The legal retirement age applies to independent body heads.
