The Ministry of Trade said Friday that it has released 100 billion dinars to pay farmers what they are owed.
Haider Nouri Al-Garawi, head of the General Company for Grain Trade, explained that this money is going to farmers who sold their wheat from the 2025 season. He said this is part of the government’s effort to speed up payments and support farmers.
He made it clear that this is not a one-time payment. It’s one of several payments being rolled out after the government approved large funds to cover all farmer dues.
According to him, the money will be sent to all provinces this week so farmers can receive it as quickly as possible.
He also said the Ministry is working closely with the Ministry of Finance and other authorities to make sure everything runs smoothly. The goal is simple: help farmers stay financially stable and encourage them to grow more crops, which strengthens the country’s food supply.
He added that farmers are at the heart of the country’s food security. Their hard work in growing and delivering wheat matters, and they deserve full support.
The Ministry, he said, will keep working to protect farmers’ rights and make sure they have what they need to continue their work.
