The start of the meeting of the Arab Parliamentary Excellence Award Committee, headed by Iraq

The thirty-third session of the Executive Committee of the Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union and the meeting of the Arab Parliamentary Excellence Award Committee were started by Mohsen Al-Mandalawi, President of the Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union, today, Tuesday, February 13, 2023.

The media office of the Iraqi Parliament announced that Mohsen Al-Mandalawi, the president of the Arab Parliamentary Union, opened the thirty-third session of the Executive Committee of the Arab Parliamentary Union, which is being hosted by Baghdad. Participants in the session included members of the Executive Committee of the Arab Parliamentary Union as well as heads of delegations from Arab parliaments.

Al-Mandalawi demanded that the Inter-Parliamentary Union freeze the Zionist entity’s parliament membership and remove its representatives from all forums, claiming that the occupying entity’s continued hostility toward Palestine and certain Arab nations advances Zionist objectives to start a regional conflict.

Al-Mandalawi stated that the ongoing attacks on locations and personnel associated with the security forces in Iraq are an infringement on their sovereignty and a move toward escalating the conflict. He therefore urged the Arab and international community to adopt a serious and firm stance against this perilous trend that is drawing the world into conflicts and crises.
