HashKey Capital has announced plans to launch what it describes as the industry’s first Bitcoin Hashrate Fund, offering professional investors a new way to gain exposure to Bitcoin mining-related returns.

The fund will be denominated in Bitcoin and is designed to generate yield through underlying mining computing power, also known as hashrate. According to HashKey Capital, the product aims to provide investors with a competitive annualized return while offering flexible subscription and redemption options and transparent cash flow reporting.

The new investment vehicle combines HashKey Capital’s digital asset management expertise with mining infrastructure support from BITMAIN, one of the world’s largest Bitcoin mining hardware providers.

HashKey Capital said the fund is intended for global professional investors looking to access Bitcoin mining income through a managed and regulated investment structure rather than directly operating mining equipment.

The company explained that the fund introduces a yield-generating model built around computing power assets. It believes the product will provide another option for investors seeking diversified exposure within the digital asset sector.

While BITMAIN will supply the computing power services that support the fund, the company will not be involved in managing, marketing, distributing, or making investment decisions for the product. HashKey Capital will independently oversee all aspects of fund management and operations.

The firm has not yet disclosed important details such as the size of the fund, expected return targets, minimum investment requirements, custody arrangements, or the specific mining assets that will back the strategy. Additional information is expected to be released later in July 2026.

The launch comes at a time when Bitcoin mining companies are facing a challenging environment. Fluctuations in Bitcoin prices, changing mining difficulty levels, and pressure on miner profitability have created uncertainty across the sector.

Recent declines in mining difficulty have helped some operators improve returns, but they have also highlighted the financial strain faced by less efficient mining businesses. As a result, investors and companies continue to explore new ways to gain exposure to mining-related income while managing operational risks.

The planned fund also reflects a broader trend toward more sophisticated Bitcoin investment products. Rather than simply holding Bitcoin, many new offerings are focused on generating additional yield through strategies linked to mining, derivatives, or other blockchain-related activities.

For HashKey Capital, the Bitcoin Hashrate Fund represents an effort to turn mining infrastructure into an accessible investment product. Its future performance will largely depend on factors such as Bitcoin prices, mining difficulty, equipment efficiency, energy costs, and the overall strength of the mining operations supporting the fund.
