The article: “THE CENTRAL BANK OF IRAQ IS DISCUSSING REMOVING ZEROS FROM THE DINAR.” Raising the value of the Iraqi dinar and eliminating zeros are fundamentally different from one another economically. In essence, removing zeros involves renaming a currency and dividing big nominal values into smaller monetary units. For instance, 1,000 dinars may become one dinar of the new currency if three zeros are eliminated; prices, salaries, deposits, loans, and contracts may also undergo a similar conversion.
