A politician stated that the next government must pay attention to the financial situation and American control over revenues.

A political analyst is calling on Iraq’s next government to deal with what he describes as outside control over the country’s oil money.

Qasim al-Tamimi said the incoming government, led by Ali al-Zaidi, needs to focus on the issue of how Iraqi oil revenues are handled, especially in relation to the US Federal Reserve and the American system.

He claimed that past governments have not been able to break free from this influence, leaving Iraq’s economy exposed.

According to him, the US at times threatens to deduct parts of Iraq’s revenues for what he described as unclear reasons. He said this is something the new government must address.

Al-Tamimi argued that oil revenues are Iraq’s main lifeline, and any outside control over them affects the country’s financial independence.

He believes the next government should work toward gaining full control over these revenues and making independent economic decisions.
