Iraq’s Communications and Media Commission (CMC) has teamed up with Zain Iraq to launch a six-month training program focused on artificial intelligence and its real-world uses.
The initiative aims to help CMC staff develop AI skills and make the technology a regular part of the organization’s daily work. The program is being carried out with support from Irada Foundation and Kapita Research, while Zain Iraq is providing practical experience, training materials, and expert instructors.
Participants will take part in specialized courses and workshops covering AI strategy, governance, data analysis, and practical AI tools. The program will also include sessions where experts share successful AI practices from the media and communications industries.
CMC Chairman Baligh Abu Kalal described the partnership as an important step toward integrating AI into the organization. He said AI skills will play a role in career growth within the CMC, with employees who show stronger expertise receiving greater consideration for leadership positions.
Abu Kalal stressed that the purpose of AI is not to replace people but to help them work more effectively and increase productivity. He added that the true value of AI depends on having skilled professionals who use the technology responsibly and ethically.
