Al-Sudani directs raising crude oil production to increase associated gas

Today, Sunday, Energy Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani issued a directive to increase crude oil production in order to boost associated gas production.

“Al-Sudani chaired the periodic meeting dedicated to following up on oil sector projects, in the presence of the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Oil, as well as a number of advisors and officials in the ministry and its affiliated companies,” read a statement from the Prime Minister’s Media Office.

A “briefing on the recently opened projects, which represent a qualitative leap in raising the capabilities of the oil industry in Iraq” was presented to him.

He added, “The paces of culmination of commodity, circulation and transportation projects were talked about, as well as the advancement of work in these crucial areas, as well as circling back to the consummation of refining projects and coordinated energy projects.”

Al-Sudani focused on the need of “growing raw petroleum creation activities to increment related gas creation, through public endeavors or finishing the creation rates contracted with permitting round organizations. Additionally, he instructed the northern refineries to increase their production capacity in order to meet their electrical energy requirements.”

“The meeting witnessed discussion of the current gas investment projects, particularly with the associated gas investment rate reaching 69 percent of the gas produced in all Iraqi fields, which represents a strategic achievement in a short period of time, as it achieved an increase of 13 percent,” the statement concluded.
