Iran Signals Harder Line With Some Iraqi Parties

Ali Alawi from the State of Law Coalition said there is growing Iranian anger toward some Iraqi political parties, especially groups Tehran believes have not stayed loyal despite claiming to support the Shiite resistance.

He said Iran’s approach is changing. Instead of staying diplomatic or neutral, Tehran is now making its position clear and wants others to do the same — stand with Iran or stand against it.

According to Alawi, recent messages from Iran show this tougher line is tied to a push to identify which political groups still support Tehran and which ones do not.

He also said this pressure is not limited to one bloc, but reaches across different political groups, including parties inside the coordination framework that Iran had supported in the past.
