Iraqi oil grades posted strong gains on Tuesday, with Basra Heavy and Basra Medium crude leading the rise as global oil prices moved higher amid stronger trading activity in energy markets.

According to market data, Basra Heavy crude climbed to $53.08 per barrel, gaining $4.81, or 9.97%. Meanwhile, Basra Medium crude rose to $55.38 per barrel, up $5.01, or 9.95%.

The increase came alongside broader gains in the global oil market. West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude rose to $79.51 per barrel, while Brent crude reached $84.70 per barrel.

Other Gulf oil grades also recorded solid increases. Arab Light advanced 4.14%, Kuwait crude gained 6.08%, and the UAE’s Murban crude rose 3.05%.

However, not all benchmarks moved higher. The OPEC basket and Dubai crude recorded slight declines in their forward pricing indicators.

The latest figures highlight strong demand and positive momentum across much of the oil market, with Iraqi crude among the top performers of the day.
