Oil prices moved lower on Thursday, including Iraq’s Basra crude grades, as global markets continued to face selling pressure.
Basra Heavy crude closed at $73.12 per barrel, falling by $0.58, or 0.79%. Basra Medium crude also dropped by $0.58, ending the day at $76.42 per barrel, a decline of 0.75%.
In global markets, West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude fell to $89.62 per barrel, down $0.80, or 0.88%. Brent crude also slipped, losing $0.64 to settle at $97.39 per barrel, a decrease of 0.65%.
The OPEC basket recorded the biggest decline among the major benchmarks, dropping by $2.22, or 1.99%, to reach $109.53 per barrel.
The overall decline reflects weaker sentiment across oil markets as traders continue to monitor global economic conditions and energy demand.
