ETF Store President Nate Geraci believes BlackRock will eventually expand its cryptocurrency ETF offerings beyond Bitcoin and Ethereum, although the asset management giant has not announced any such plans.
Geraci said it is surprising that BlackRock has not yet launched a spot ETF focused on another cryptocurrency or introduced a multi-asset crypto fund. However, his comments reflect personal opinion and are not based on any public statement from BlackRock.
At the moment, BlackRock’s crypto ETF lineup remains focused on Bitcoin and Ethereum. Its flagship Bitcoin ETF, IBIT, manages more than $60 billion in assets, making it one of the largest crypto investment products on the market.
The company also offers two Ethereum-related funds. ETHA, its spot Ethereum ETF, manages more than $8 billion, while ETHB, a staking-enabled Ethereum fund, holds over $800 million in assets.
Together, BlackRock’s crypto ETF products manage close to $70 billion, highlighting the strong investor demand for Bitcoin and Ethereum exposure.
Despite growing interest in other digital assets, there is currently no public filing showing that BlackRock plans to launch spot ETFs for cryptocurrencies such as XRP or Solana. There is also no publicly available application for a crypto index ETF from the company.
That does not necessarily mean BlackRock has ruled out such products. Asset managers often develop new investment ideas privately before making any formal filings or announcements.
Meanwhile, competitors have already expanded into other areas of the crypto market. Several spot XRP ETFs and Solana ETFs have launched in the United States and attracted significant investor interest.
Industry observers believe future decisions will largely depend on client demand, market conditions, regulatory requirements, and the potential size of any new fund.
For now, BlackRock has not confirmed any plans to broaden its crypto ETF lineup. As a result, Geraci’s prediction remains speculation until the company files new applications or makes an official announcement.
