Gold prices remained near the 900,000 Iraqi dinar mark per mithqal on Wednesday in Baghdad and Erbil, continuing the upward trend seen in recent days, according to a market survey by Shafaq News.
In Baghdad’s Al-Nahr Street market, 21-carat Gulf, Turkish, and European gold was sold at 897,000 IQD per mithqal (five grams), while the buying price stood at 893,000 IQD. By comparison, the same gold was selling for 870,000 IQD on Sunday, highlighting the recent rise in prices.
Meanwhile, 21-carat Iraqi gold recorded a selling price of 867,000 IQD per mithqal and a buying price of 863,000 IQD.
At jewelry stores across Baghdad, the selling price of 21-carat Gulf gold ranged between 900,000 and 910,000 IQD per mithqal. Iraqi gold was sold between 870,000 and 880,000 IQD.
In Erbil, gold prices varied by purity level. A mithqal of 22-carat gold was sold for 937,000 IQD, while 21-carat gold reached 895,000 IQD. The price of 18-carat gold stood at 767,000 IQD per mithqal.
The latest figures reflect continued strength in the gold market as prices remain elevated across Iraq’s major trading centers.
