Adel Dakhil Muhammad Al-Yasiri has officially assumed his position as Chairman of Iraq’s National Investment Commission (NIC), marking a leadership change at one of the country’s key economic institutions.

After taking office, Al-Yasiri met with senior officials and directors-general at the commission to review the status of ongoing investment projects and discuss the challenges facing their implementation.

During the meeting, Al-Yasiri said the next phase would bring a significant change in the way Iraq’s investment sector is managed. He stressed the importance of transparency, adherence to the law, and simplifying administrative procedures to create a more attractive environment for both local and foreign investors.

He also highlighted the need to launch major strategic and development projects that can strengthen infrastructure and create employment opportunities for young people across Iraq’s provinces.

Al-Yasiri emphasized that encouraging investment and accelerating project execution will be key priorities as the country seeks to support economic growth and diversification.

He succeeds Haider Mohammed Makkiya, who had served as Chairman of the National Investment Commission since late 2023.
