An Iraqi-Turkish business roundtable was held in Baghdad to discuss ways to strengthen trade and economic cooperation between Iraq and Türkiye.
The meeting was chaired by Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi and brought together a large group of Turkish business leaders along with Iraqi government officials, including Trade Minister Mustafa Nizar Jumaa.
According to Iraq’s Ministry of Trade, participants discussed measures and incentives aimed at increasing economic cooperation, attracting investment, and improving the business environment in both countries.
The talks also focused on the government’s efforts to support economic openness and simplify procedures that facilitate trade and investment between Iraq and Türkiye.
The meeting comes shortly after Prime Minister al-Zaidi’s visit to Ankara last week, where he led a high-level Iraqi delegation and held discussions with Turkish officials on expanding cooperation in several sectors, including trade, investment, energy, and infrastructure.
Officials from both countries expressed interest in building stronger economic ties and creating new opportunities for businesses to participate in joint projects and cross-border trade.
