Iraq participates in UNCTAD meetings to join the World Trade Organization

The Service of Exchange reported today, Saturday, its cooperation in the specialized gatherings of the Unified Countries Meeting on Exchange and Improvement (UNCTAD) in Istanbul, with respect to the promotion of Bedouin nations to the World Exchange Association.

The Chief General of the Branch of Unfamiliar Financial Relations, Riyadh Fakher Al-Hashemi, who addressed the Service of Exchange these gatherings, expressed, as per the assertion, that “the gatherings examined the results of the thirteenth pastoral meeting of the World Exchange Association, the course of Bedouin nations’ promotion to the association, and how Iraq can profit from these encounters in its course of joining. Additionally, the significance of service trade in sustaining and fostering the expansion of Arab economies was examined.”

He emphasized that “the exchange of knowledge and experiences gained from these meetings will have a significant positive impact on improving Iraq’s negotiating capabilities and achieving its economic goals,” and that “Iraq’s participation in these technical meetings enhances the experience of the Iraqi negotiating team and pushes it to move forward, and in an accelerated manner, towards achieving full accession to the World Trade Organization.”

“This participation is part of the ongoing efforts made by the Ministry of Trade to strengthen Iraq’s international economic relations and take advantage of the opportunities to enhance economic and commercial development in the country,” the statement stated.
