The Iraqi Private Banks League (IPBL) has signed a new agreement with Germany’s Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) to support the growth and development of Iraq’s banking and financial sector.
The memorandum of understanding was signed by Ali Tariq, Executive Director of the Iraqi Private Banks League, and Jona Brosche, Deputy Country Director of GIZ.
Ali Tariq said the partnership is designed to strengthen the skills and capabilities of banking professionals across Iraq. He added that the agreement will encourage knowledge sharing, improve training opportunities, and help support the growth of small and medium-sized businesses.
The collaboration is part of wider efforts to modernize Iraq’s financial sector, improve banking services, and contribute to long-term economic growth in the country.v
