A delegation from Iraq’s Ministry of Oil, headed by Amer Khalil Ahmed, visited the Iraqi Embassy in Damascus and met with the chargé d’affaires to discuss energy cooperation with Syria.
The talks focused on plans to reactivate the Iraq-Syria oil pipeline, which could help strengthen oil transport and trade between the two countries.
The delegation also discussed steps to open an Iraqi shipping office at the Syrian port of Port of Baniyas. The move is aimed at boosting Iraq’s oil export operations and creating more options for marketing Iraqi crude in regional and international markets.
