The Iraqi Housing Fund has announced that online applications for housing loans will open on 23 August and continue for four days, with specific dates assigned to different governorates. Applications will open at 10:00 a.m. on the designated day for each governorate.
The application schedule is:
- 23 August: Baghdad, Najaf, Salah al-Din, Nineveh, Kirkuk, and Anbar
- 24 August: Dhi Qar, Babil, and Karbala
- 25 August: Basra, Diwaniyah, and Diyala
- 26 August: Maysan, Muthanna, and Wasit
Applications will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis until each governorate’s quota is filled. Officials said there will be no exceptions once the allocated quota has been reached.
Applicants must submit their requests through the Housing Fund’s electronic platform and upload the front side of their national ID card, building permit, and property deed. Any application with incorrect information or documents that do not match the submitted details will be rejected.
To qualify, applicants must own land with a minimum area of 100 square meters and have a construction area of at least 65 square meters. Applicants must also be between 18 and 65 years old.
The Housing Fund is offering two loan options worth 60 million Iraqi dinars each, equivalent to around $46,000. One loan is interest-free, while the second carries a declining interest rate of 2 percent. Both loans can be repaid over a period of 15 years.
Officials noted that loan approvals will depend on the availability of funds and financial allocations.
