Member of Parliament Ali al-Zirjawi has called on the Prime Minister to strengthen the role of the private sector and reduce pressure on Iraq’s state budget as the country faces ongoing economic challenges.

Al-Zirjawi said that the government’s large spending on salaries and operating expenses has created repeated financial problems and limited the state’s ability to invest in long-term development projects.

He explained that Iraq is currently dealing with an economic crisis caused by poor planning and management, as well as regional tensions that have affected the country’s overall economic conditions.

According to al-Zirjawi, one of the most important solutions is to support the private sector and reduce the heavy dependence on government spending. He believes a stronger private sector can create jobs, boost economic activity, and help ease the burden on public finances.

He stressed that real economic reforms are needed to improve the situation and protect the country’s financial stability.

Al-Zirjawi also said that the current circumstances require more flexible economic policies that can help strengthen the economy, improve public services, and create sustainable growth for the future.

He emphasized that relying solely on government spending is no longer enough and that greater private-sector participation will be essential for overcoming Iraq’s economic challenges in the years ahead.
