The US dollar strengthened against the Iraqi dinar on Saturday morning, the first trading day of the week, with prices rising in Baghdad and the Kurdistan Region.
In Baghdad, trading at the Al-Kifah and Al-Harithiya exchanges saw the dollar reach 155,650 dinars per $100. This was higher than Thursday’s closing rate of 155,100 dinars per $100.
The increase was also reflected in local exchange shops across the capital. The selling price rose to 156,000 dinars per $100, while the buying price remained at 155,000 dinars.
A similar trend was seen in Erbil, where the dollar also gained value. Exchange markets recorded a selling price of 155,300 dinars per $100 and a buying price of 155,200 dinars.
The latest rise shows continued pressure on the local currency as traders and investors closely watch economic developments and market conditions across the country.
