Mr. Al-Hakim: The necessity of leaving the rentier state and activating the five-point economy

Mr. Ammar al-Hakim, the leader of the National State Forces Alliance, emphasized the importance of leaving the rentier state that is heavily dependent on oil revenues.

Mr. Al-Hakim “met with Mazen Al-Hakim, head of the Sibar Center for Strategic Studies, and they discussed developments in Iraq and the region,” according to a statement from his office, of which a copy was received.

“We emphasized the importance of study centers to support the governmental and legislative system with ideas and studies, as well as the importance of studies that are realistic and applicable,” Mr. Al-Hakim emphasized.
Additionally, we described the nature of Iraq’s economic difficulties.”

The “necessity of leaving the rentier state and activating the five economic sectors represented by agriculture, industry, tourism, investment, and technology” was one of his main points.
