A new weekly shipping service has started between Abu Dhabi’s Khalifa Port and Iraq’s Umm Qasr Port, making it easier to move goods between the two countries and across the region.
According to AD Ports Group, the service comes as demand for container and vehicle cargo transport continues to grow. It is expected to improve trade connections between Iraq, the UAE, Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, and other GCC countries, while also creating stronger links with Türkiye and Europe.
AD Ports Group has set up logistics facilities at both ports to help with the storage, handling, and transportation of cargo.
Captain Mohamed Juma Al Shamisi, Managing Director and Group CEO of AD Ports Group, said the new service will open access to more trade routes, improve supply chain operations, and support long-term economic growth across the region.
