MP Miqdad al-Khafaji said there is strong agreement inside parliament to move forward with passing the Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) law.
He described the move as a sovereign decision, stressing that it is an internal matter and should not be influenced by any outside parties.
According to al-Khafaji, most members of parliament support finalizing the law to secure the rights of PMF fighters. He said there is clear backing to push it through.
He also pointed to growing pressure within parliament to have the next government quickly resubmit the draft law once it is formed.
In his view, the delay has gone on long enough. He emphasized the need to pass the law as soon as possible to resolve the issue and provide legal protection for PMF members.
In simple terms, the push is gaining momentum, and lawmakers want to see action without further delays.
