Ripple has introduced Ripple Mint and announced a strategic investment in compliance company Notabene as it continues expanding the institutional use of its stablecoin, Ripple USD (RLUSD).
The two announcements focus on making RLUSD easier for businesses to use while improving compliance and payment capabilities for regulated institutions.
Ripple Mint is a new platform designed to simplify stablecoin operations for institutional customers. It allows approved users to mint, redeem, transfer, bridge, and monitor RLUSD across supported blockchain networks through a web interface, APIs, and automated notifications.
The platform is intended for exchanges, fintech companies, market makers, and other businesses that regularly work with stablecoins. Ripple says the system will make it easier for institutions to manage RLUSD and integrate stablecoin operations directly into their existing workflows.
At the same time, Ripple has made an undisclosed investment in Notabene, a company that provides compliance solutions for digital asset transactions. As part of the partnership, RLUSD will be integrated into Notabene Flow, a payment network used by regulated financial institutions.
Notabene’s network connects more than 2,300 institutions across over 100 jurisdictions and processes more than $2 trillion in annualized transaction volume. The platform helps firms meet regulatory requirements by providing identity verification, transaction monitoring, and compliance controls before payments are processed.
Ripple believes the partnership will make it easier for financial institutions to use RLUSD for cross-border payments while remaining compliant with global regulations.
The announcements come during a mixed period for RLUSD. Recent data shows that monthly transfer volume fell about 25% to approximately $10.95 billion. However, the number of holders increased by 6%, while active wallet addresses jumped 70%, indicating broader adoption despite lower transaction volumes.
Ripple has also continued expanding RLUSD’s availability across multiple blockchain networks. Through integrations with Wormhole’s infrastructure, the stablecoin can now move across more than 40 supported networks, including Ethereum-based ecosystems and the XRP Ledger ecosystem.
According to Ripple, RLUSD currently has approximately $1.51 billion in circulation and is backed by cash, cash equivalents, and U.S. Treasury assets. The stablecoin is issued by Standard Custody & Trust Company under a New York regulatory framework.
While transfer activity has slowed in recent weeks, Ripple’s latest moves show the company remains focused on building the infrastructure needed for long-term institutional adoption. The success of Ripple Mint and the Notabene partnership will likely be measured by whether they help drive greater payment, settlement, and transaction activity for RLUSD in the months ahead.
